The Valley School, Bengaluru is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and provides courses leading to the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) Examination upon completing Class X, as well as the ISC (Indian School Certificate) Examination at the end of Class XII. English serves as the medium of instruction.The Valley School recognizes the diverse learning styles and paces of its students, and therefore, implements a range of teaching and learning methods to foster comprehensive understanding. These approaches are regularly discussed, reviewed, and adjusted by the staff to ensure their effectiveness.

In addition to the compulsory subject of English, each student is required to choose four elective subjects, with the condition of selecting no more than one from each set provided. The options include subjects such as Physics, Accounts, Sociology, and Environmental Science; Chemistry, Economics, and History; Biology, Commerce, Literature, and Mathematics; and Music, Art, and Physical Education. However, an elective subject is offered only if a minimum of three students opt for it.

The school offers two residential options: the Fully Residential program and the Week Boarding program. Students residing outside Bengaluru are expected to choose the Fully Residential facility, while the Week Boarding option caters to students whose families are located in Bengaluru.

One of the school's core values is the balance between freedom and order. It emphasizes that true freedom does not arise from individual desires, choices, or self-interest, as such an approach ultimately leads to disorder. Freedom should not be mistaken for the freedom to choose, nor should order be equated with conformity or imitation. Genuine order can only be attained when individuals recognize that the act of choosing itself denies true freedom.
