Founded in 2003 as the first Delhi Public School in Kolkata, DPS Ruby Park was established as a joint initiative of the OmDayal Educational & Research Society and the DPS Society, New Delhi. What began as a new benchmark for English-medium schooling in the Ruby Park neighbourhood of South Kolkata has grown into a campus spanning over 527,200 square feet, serving more than 10,000 students across Nursery to Class 12. The school operates across two addresses - the Junior School at 138 Ruby Park, Kasba Rathtala, and the High School at 254 Shanti Pally, RB Connector - making it one of the most distinctly structured CBSE school setups in the city.

Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, DPS Ruby Park has published board result analyses covering every session from 2022 through 2025-26 for both Class 10 and Class 12. The school's Advantage+2 programme is designed to prepare senior students simultaneously for board exams and national competitive tests including JEE. Alumni from the school have gone on to programmes at MIT, Columbia University, the Indian Statistical Institute, Cornell, and the University of Bristol - many currently working at organisations such as Google and Facebook - reflecting the long-term outcomes the school has built over two decades.

The campus includes science laboratories, a computer lab, a library, a football ground, and an infirmary. A dedicated Students' Council, structured co-curricular activity schedules for both junior and high school sections, and an active clubs programme run alongside the academic calendar. Annual events include Reverence, Durgapuja Assembly, Independence Day celebrations, the Annual Art Exhibition, and Scholar Badge assemblies. The school publishes a magazine titled Expressions and also accepts international admissions through a separate process.
