D.A.V. Public School, Kurukshetra was established on 25 January 1987 in a rented Kothi located in Sector-13, Urban Estate. The admission process for the first session commenced on 01 February 1987, while the formal inauguration of the school took place on 09 August 1987. In its inaugural year, the school offered classes from Nursery to VI, with a student strength of 184 and a team of 8 well-qualified, experienced, and dedicated teachers.

Over the years, the school has achieved remarkable progress and growth. It has now evolved into a fully-fledged Senior Secondary CBSE affiliated school, catering to a student body of more than 2153, supported by a faculty of 82 teachers and 35 non-teaching staff.
