Maple Tree School

Founded in April 2011 by Director Sanen Imchen - whose guiding belief is that “the results will follow if you believe in the process” - The Maple Tree School sits at 208 Kashiram, Rangapahar Cantonment Road in Dimapur, Nagaland, across an expansive 8-acre campus that gives it one of the largest school grounds in the city. Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, the school operates as a co-educational English-medium institution offering continuous schooling from Nursery through Grade 12. The school’s name and philosophy draw from the maple tree itself - firmly rooted, weathering every season, and producing its finest qualities only after sustained growth - a metaphor the school applies directly to how it prepares each child for life beyond the classroom.

The Maple Tree School runs six structured academic programmes under the CBSE framework: an Early Program for Nursery, LKG, and UKG built entirely on play-based and child-led learning; a Lower Primary stage for Grades 1 and 2 focused on phonics, early numeracy, and classroom independence; Primary School for Grades 3 to 5 emphasising critical thinking and project-based work; Middle School for Grades 6 to 8 with dedicated subject teachers and digital literacy; High School for Grades 9 and 10 preparing students for CBSE Board examinations; and Senior Secondary for Grades 11 and 12 across Science, Humanities, and Commerce streams. Each stage is deliberately structured to build on the one before it, with teaching methods shifting from entirely play-based in the early years to increasingly independent and research-oriented in the middle and upper school years.

The 8-acre campus on Rangapahar Cantonment Road provides generous space for both academic and sporting activity - a practical advantage in a city where most schools operate on significantly smaller footprints. Middle school students work on drone assembly in dedicated technology sessions documented on the school website, and the senior secondary programme includes mentorship and guidance support for students navigating higher education and career decisions alongside their board examination preparation. Sports, arts, music, and co-curricular activities run alongside the academic calendar at all levels, and students in Grades 11 and 12 take on leadership roles within the school community.

Admissions to The Maple Tree School Dimapur are open for the current session, with campus tours available on request.
