Mai Bhago Government Polytechnic college for girls Amritsar is known for its academic and moral standards and achievements in various fields, namely academics, sports, extra-curricular activities etc. Since its inception 1995, the college has put in vigorous efforts in the foundation and development of a conducive atmosphere for academic and sports activities which have always been translated into excellent results and laurels.

The college is situated near Majitha Road bye pass on the outskirts of the holy city of Amritsar. The foundation stone of the college was laid by the late Hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab S. Beant Singh on July 3, 1994. The college is under the administrative control of the Directorate of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab. The State Government met with the entire expenditure on the construction of buildings, equipment and establishment etc. which was reimbursed by the World Bank.

To create a center for imparting technical education of international standards and to equip the students with appropriate attitude, knowledge and skills for their chosen vocation and inculcate values required for the dynamic corporate environment

The Environmental Committee of the college gives special attention to planting new saplings on regular basis and ensures their proper maintenance and well-being. The Environmental Committee of the college arranges lectures on various aspects of the environment by different NGOs to motivate Students to protect and improve the environment. 

The college is playing a major role in the field of environment. In the wake of Global warming and the increase in deforestation, our college has taken various steps to improve the environment.
