Maths Worksheet Generator
Make printable A4 practice sheets in seconds — 14 topics from column addition to BODMAS, fractions and equations — with your school header, a choice of layout and a separate answer key.
To make a maths worksheet, choose a topic, set the level and the number of questions, then print. This generator covers 14 topics for Class 1 to 8 — addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, mixed operations, missing numbers, comparison, times tables, fractions, decimals, BODMAS, integers, percentages and equations — with 10 to 60 fresh questions and an answer key.
Worksheet settings
Every change updates the A4 preview instantly.
A fresh worksheet for every class
Pick a topic and level, and the generator writes new questions that follow the rules you set — then lays them out on real A4 pages with an answer key.
Choose topic & level
Digits, carrying or borrowing, remainders, denominators or equation type — each topic has its own settings.
Set the layout
Column (vertical) sums for Class 1–5, or horizontal rows. Pick 10–60 questions and the number of columns.
Add your header
School name, title, class, date, name line and marks box are printed on page 1.
Print with the key
Print or save as PDF. The answer key prints on its own page so you can keep it aside.
Carrying & borrowing
In column addition, if a column adds to 10 or more, write the ones digit and carry the ten: 47 + 38 → 7 + 8 = 15, write 5, carry 1 → 4 + 3 + 1 = 8 → 85. In subtraction, when the top digit is smaller, borrow one ten: 52 − 27 → 12 − 7 = 5, 4 − 2 = 2 → 25.
BODMAS order
Brackets → Of → ÷ × → + −
Solve ( ) first, then [ ], then { }. Division and multiplication go left to right, then addition and subtraction left to right: 18 − 12 ÷ 3 × 2 = 18 − 4 × 2 = 18 − 8 = 10.
Adding unlike fractions
Make the denominators equal using their LCM, then add the numerators: 14 + 16 = 312 + 212 = 512. Always simplify the answer.
Solving equations
Do the same thing to both sides to keep the balance: 3x + 5 = 20 → 3x = 15 → x = 5. Check by substituting: 3 × 5 + 5 = 20 ✓
Maths Worksheet Generator — your questions
How do I make a maths worksheet for my class?
Choose the topic, set the difficulty options for it, decide how many questions you want and type your school name in the header. The A4 preview updates as you change anything, so you can see the finished sheet before you print it. The answer key is generated at the same time on a separate page.
Which maths topics can I make worksheets for?
There are 14 topics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, mixed operations, missing numbers, comparison with less than and greater than, times tables, fractions, decimals, BODMAS simplification, integers, percentages and simple linear equations. Each has its own settings, so a Class 2 addition sheet and a Class 8 equations sheet both come out at the right level.
How do I teach carrying and borrowing in column sums?
In addition, if a column totals 10 or more, write the ones digit and carry the ten: 47 + 38 gives 7 + 8 = 15, so write 5 and carry 1, then 4 + 3 + 1 = 8, making 85. In subtraction, when the top digit is smaller, borrow one ten: 52 − 27 becomes 12 − 7 = 5 and 4 − 2 = 2, making 25.
Is the answer key printed separately from the worksheet?
Yes. Tick "Add an answer-key page" and the key prints on its own page after the questions, so you can hand out the worksheet and keep the key aside. If you want a teacher copy with the answers written in place on the questions, tick "Show answers on the sheet" instead.
Can I print exactly the same worksheet again later?
Yes. Every sheet has a code printed in its footer. Type that same code back in with the same settings and the generator rebuilds exactly the same questions, which is useful for making the key later, giving an absent student the same sheet, or sharing it with another teacher.
What is the BODMAS order of operations?
Brackets first, then Of, then Division and Multiplication left to right, then Addition and Subtraction left to right. So 18 − 12 ÷ 3 × 2 becomes 18 − 4 × 2, then 18 − 8 = 10. Inside brackets, work out round brackets before square and curly ones.
Can I use these worksheets for homework and revision?
Yes, and because the questions are generated fresh each time you can give the whole class the same topic without everyone having identical sums. Teachers typically print one sheet per child for class practice and regenerate a second sheet with the same settings for homework the next day.
