How it works

Certificates worth framing

Recognition matters most when it arrives quickly. Make a full set for an event in the time it takes to drink a cup of chai.

Pick a design

Classic, modern, elegant, kids or minimal — then fine-tune the accent colour.

Fill in the wording

Choose the certificate type, name, event, date, school name and up to two signatories.

Add your logo

Upload the school crest from your computer — it is drawn on the certificate and never uploaded.

Download or print

Get a high-resolution PNG, or paste a class list to download or print every certificate at once.

Which certificate to give?

  • Participation — everyone who took part.
  • Merit — students on a merit list or rank.
  • Achievement — winners and position holders.
  • Excellence — consistently outstanding work.
  • Appreciation — effort, service, helpers and staff.

Wording that works

Be specific: “for securing First Position in the Class 5 Quiz” means far more to a child than “for good performance”. Keep names exactly as in school records, and check spellings before printing.

Printing tips

Choose A4, landscape, margins None and turn on Background graphics. 170–250 GSM matte or ivory card stock gives a premium finish; print one test page first.

Did you know? A 2000 × 1414 pixel image has the same proportions as an A4 sheet (1 : √2), so certificates print edge to edge without stretching.
Questions & answers

Certificate Maker — your questions

How do I make a certificate for students for free?

Choose one of the five designs, type the student's name, what the certificate is for, the event, the date and your school name, then press Download PNG or Print. Nothing has to be installed and there is no watermark or payment. You can upload your school logo and add two signatory names as well.

What is the correct wording for an appreciation certificate?

The usual order is: heading, type of certificate, "This certificate is awarded to", the name, the reason, the event and date, then the signatures. Be specific in the reason — "for securing First Position in the Class 5 Quiz" means far more to a child than "for good performance".

Which certificate should I give — merit, participation or achievement?

Participation is for everybody who took part, merit for students who made a merit list or rank, achievement for winners and position holders, excellence for consistently outstanding work, and appreciation for effort, service, helpers and staff. All five wordings are built in and every line stays editable.

Can I make certificates for a whole class at once?

Yes. Paste the names one per line in the Bulk certificates box and the tool makes a certificate for each one. Add a vertical bar after a name to give that child their own reason, for example "Riya Sen | for winning First Prize in the 100 m race". Then download all the PNGs or print the whole set.

How should I print the certificates so they look good?

Choose A4, landscape, margins None and switch on Background graphics in the print dialog. Card stock of 170 to 250 GSM in matte or ivory gives a premium finish. Print one test page first to check the colours and the spelling of every name before you print the full set.

Does my school logo get uploaded to a server?

No. The logo you choose is read by the page and drawn straight onto the certificate inside your browser. It never leaves your device, and nothing you type — names, event or school — is sent anywhere either. A PNG with a transparent background sits most neatly on the design, and a square crest scales best.

What size is the certificate image?

It is 2000 by 1414 pixels, which has the same 1 to √2 proportions as an A4 sheet, so it prints edge to edge without being stretched. That resolution is high enough for sharp text when printed, and the PNG can also be shared in a parents' group on WhatsApp.
